Our last game was on Monday at Glenn, we won 14-1. I could've thrown out 2 people but the 2nd baseman dropped the ball both times. I ended up getting moved to varsity for playoffs so that was pretty cool to see the work ive put in finally start to show off but I still need to improve and get better everyday. I long tossed on Wednesday because on Tuesday I was letting my arm rest because we had just played on Monday. I threw around 250 feet because my arm was a little sore so I didn't want to throw and hurt my arm

HunterThis week we played Glenn on Tuesday and North Stanly on Wednesday. We were supposed to play Thursday and Friday but they both got rained out so we are playing next Monday. We won both games the first one was 15-0, and the second game was 14-6 so this week was a good one. I long tossed on Monday because we play on Tuesday so I didn't want to long toss on game day. I've been using the Bands after I throw and also the weighted balls so my arm can continue to get stronger. I've been stretching before I throw everyday to make sure I do not injure myself so I can keep playing and continue to get stronger. I threw at rise on Thursday because of the rain so we couldn't practice outside. TuckerHunterThis week we had a double header against AL brown, We won both games first one was 11-10 and second one was 15-0. I threw 2 people out during the 2 games. I can definitely tell my arm has gotten stronger since last year. On Tuesday I didn't throw far at all because I had just got done playing 2 games so I needed to let my arm rest. On Wednesday we played Oak Grove and we won 5-3, I threw someone out this game. On Thursday I didn't throw but 150 feet because we had just played and my arm was sore so I did not want to throw it far. On Friday my arm was feeling good and I was throwing around 275 feet. TuckerThis week we played three games. We had a double header at A.L Brown. We won both of those games. Then we had Oak Grove at home. My physical therapist gave me exercises to do at home to rebuild the strength in my shoulder. I had to stand close to a wall and do a 30 second throwing pattern with a 12oz plyo ball. I can still not do much with my shoulder. It always sucks watching everyone else do what you love, but yet you can't do it. From here on out I will be writing about my physical therapy process and the differences I can see in my shoulder. When I first started going to PT we started off with an assessment, which included: testing the strength in my shoulder, deep tissue work/massage and lastly dry needling.
HunterThis week was spring break, we got off for this week except for Thursday and Friday. I threw on Monday and Wednesday, I threw around 250 feet on Monday because my arm wasn't feeling the best but it still felt good. On Tuesday I threw 100 yards letting my arm recover from Mondays long tossing. On Wednesday I threw around 275-300 feet, it felt really good. On Thursday and Friday I threw a little shorter around 200-225 feet so I can give a little time for my arm to rest over the weekend. I have been stretching before I throw and then after I throw ive been using J bands which helps me with soreness. TuckerThis week I was injured. I went to the doctor to get my shoulder checked out and the doctor said that I had a strained bicep and peck muscle, and a inflamed Labrum. He said the expected time of me being out of throwing was 4-6 weeks. He gave me physical therapy exercises to do. We first started off with dry needling or also known as acupuncture. This procedure is when the doctor sticks micro-needles into the injured muscles or surrounding muscles. Then he adds electric currents to the needles and turns up the electricity. This can be very painful depending on which muscle the needle is in. This is all we did for my first PT session.
HunterHunter - This week we played Watauga on Wednesday. We ended up losing but it was a good game until the 5th inning. It all went downhill, we had some dumb mistakes that costed us the game. I've been long tossing every day except for on game days. I long tossed Monday but I didn't go that far because it had been a day since I´ve thrown. Tuesday was the day I went as far as I could.
Tucker - We played Watauga on Wednesday. I got to pitch for two innings in this game. My pitching coach changed my arm slot to side arm. When I was pitching I was throwing very well. My shoulder was hurting pretty bad after. I took a week off from throwing to see if that would help any. I tried to lightly toss after the break. It still hurt pretty bad, so I went to the doctor. TuckerOn Tuesday and Friday we played Reagan. I didn't get to pitch against Reagan. Then the next day on Thursday we played North Davidson. I didn't do the best against them. I pitched 3 innings, and had one strikeout. I could tell a big difference in my arm speed and location on the ball. They were just hitting it where we weren't and there nothing you can do about that. Hunter This week we had two conference games. And one non conference game against North Davidson. We lost all three of our games but the North Davidson game was a close one but the other two were not. I long tossed on Monday and Thursday. I felt really good going probably about 300 feet. I have been using bands to strengthen and recover my arm. Also using Plyo balls before I throw and then stretch after. I have been long tossing about everyday that we dont have games.
TuckerLast week we played East Forsyth on Tuesday and Thursday. I pitched at the second home game vs. East. I had 5 strikeouts, 3 IP (innings pitched) and 1 ER (earned run). I felt really smooth on the mound with my mechanics and I can see improvement all around. The mental side I need to work on. There will be times when I fail and I need to learn to flush it and move on. HunterLast week we played East Forsyth on Tuesday and Thursday, we took L's both times but the first one was a much better game we lost 7-6 they hit a walk off on us. On Thursday we lost 8-1, we had several errors which killed us. I have still been long tossing every day we do not have a game me and Tucker have been getting together throwing on the weekends. I can definitely tell the bands and stretching has helped with soreness in my arm. And my throw downs have gotten faster and more accurate since I started doing the journey.
TuckerThis week we had East Surry on Wednesday which we won 10-8. Then on Saturday we played Alexander Central and I pitched. I pitched for 4 innings, I had 2 strikeouts and 2 earned runs. Not the best but not the worst. Me and Hunter are still working every day to build up our arm strength and to get better. Next week we will be taking videos of our form. I am a pitcher and he is a catcher. I will measure my velocity, and Hunter will measure his pop time. HunterThis week we played East Surry and we won 10-8 they almost scored 9 runs and won but we got the win. On Saturday we played Alexander central and we lost that game 4-2.It was a close one we probably could have one if we could have had less errors. I long tossed every day that we didn't have a game. I do not like to long toss on game days because if I hurt my arm then I would not be able to play. I still do bands and stretches before and after I throw every day.
TuckerThis week we were supposed to have 3 games. The one on Thursday vs. North Davidson got canceled due to weather. On Tuesday we played away at Alexander Central. We started off not to hot. Towards the end of the game is when we really started to pop back and finish with a W with a score of 6-3. I did not get to pitch in that game. The next day we had a home game vs. Carson. I dialed in as they started to hit the ball routinely and the defense worked together with no errors in the first few innings. Then in the end of the 3rd inning Carson started catching up to my pitches and barreling up the ball. I finished with 4 strike outs, no walks and one hit by pitch. I do not think it was my best outing but definitely not my worst. We finished with score of Carson 10, Davie 5. This upcoming week I will work on getting more prepared and focusing on mechanics to place the ball where I want to. HunterThis week we had two games. Our first was at Alexander central and we won 6-3. Then we had another game Wednesday vs Carson and we lost 10-5. Overall I can tell my arm has definitely gotten stronger since where it was at the beginning of the year. On Monday I long tossed after I stretched and did the bands to help loosen up my arm. I have been long tossing at least every other day sometimes everyday depending on how my arm is feeling. So far I have thrown out 2 or three people so that is much better than last year. I know my pop time has gotten faster compared to last years but it can still be faster and I have been working on that. Me and Tucker have been throwing everyday but Sunday, we get together on Saturdays at rise and throw .
Tucker This week was a pretty hectic week. In order for getting ready for our upcoming baseball games, me and Hunter threw every day. On Monday I did light intent/flat ground to help level out mechanics and just to help overall control of my pitches. Tuesday I threw long toss around 300 feet for several reps to build my arm strength up. Along with that I threw in arm care which consists of: Bands, holding 5 pound plates at 90 degrees and running to work up the lactic acid in my arm. Wednesday was bullpen day. I threw a 30 pitch bullpen and I focused on extending my stride, going down the mound, and keeping pressure in my back hip. Thursday I long tossed again, this time around 250 feet for 20-25 throws. After this my arm was really tired, I threw a few of my pitches to get a feel for them. On Friday I threw a 60 pitch bullpen in order to get ready for our games next week. In this I was focusing on throwing as many strikes as possible and throwing like I would in a game. On Saturday, me and Hunter got together at rise. I was working on getting feel for all of my pitches and feeling in control of the ball. This week we have 3 games, Tuesday is away vs. Alexander Central and Wednesday is home and we play Carson, and Friday is away at North Davidson. HunterThis week was an intense one. With practice being everyday trying to get ready for our three games next week. Monday I threw light with it being the start of the week. I was throwing at a shorter distance but still throwing with a purpose and trying to warm up my arm as good as i can. Tuesday I long tossed near a distance of 300 feet several times. Wednesday I threw shorter distances to allow my arm to rest but I was throwing it harder. Thursday I long tossed again with Tucker and were throwing at about 85% of our max distances. Friday we long tossed again to get Tuckers arm loose so he could throw his bullpen and get ready for next weeks upcoming games. Saturday I met up with Tucker at rise and he was trying to get a feel for his pitches and I threw trying to keep my arm ready for Tuesdays game. Our first game is away vs Alexander central, then we play Wednesday at home vs Carson, then Friday away at North Davidson. I do stretches before and after I throw everyday to keep my arm healthy so it will continue to get stronger.
